Jason Orlenko is a Milwaukee based costume designer, where he started a career in theatrical costuming after receiving his BA in Theatre at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Upon receiving a Masters of Fine Arts in Costume Design at Indiana University, Jason was fortunate to design the regional premiere of Amy Herzog’s 4000 MILES at the Repertory of St. Louis, starring Rita Gardner. Other notable designs including the world premiere of Somtow Sucharitkul’s opera THE SNOW DRAGON at Skylight Music Theatre and Opera Siam and FALLEN ANGELS at Milwaukee Chamber Theatre. Other favorite designs include THE STORY OF MY LIFE at Milwaukee Opera Theatre, THE GLASS MENAGERIE at In Tandem Theatre, THE TAMING at Next Act Theatre, and A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS at First Stage Children's Theatre. Additionally, his designs can be seen around the Midwest including work at the Milwaukee Rep, Skylight Music Theatre, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, Next Act Theatre, In Tandem Theatre, First Stage Children’s Theater, Renaissance Theaterworks, Milwaukee Opera Theatre, Indiana Festival Theatre, Children's Theatre of Madison, Marquette University Theatre and UW-Milwaukee. Additionally, Jason has served as a design assistant at American Player's Theatre, Skylight Music Theatre and the Illinois Shakespeare Festival, and on the wardrobe crews and as a stitcher at the Hangar Theatre, the Florentine Opera, the Indiana Festival Theatre and the Brown County Playhouse.
